Soul Affirmation Liner Notes

Soul Affirmation CD by LaDerouteThis CD took three years to write, produce and record. It came from a heartfelt desire to help others.

Meditation, and the use of affirmations has changed my life so completely, I wanted to share this valuable knowledge and inspiration with others through my music.

An affirmation is a positive thought or idea that you consciously focus on in order to produce a desired outcome.

“Soul Affirmation” is a simple, yet powerful CD that can help transform your most deeply held beliefs about yourself and your world. What are beliefs anyway?

Beliefs are merely successive, repeated, habitual thought patterns, solidified in the mind. Since every thought you think is creating your future, why not re-create your thoughts and beliefs?

Learn to overcome negative thought forms and direct more positive thoughts your way.

I believe I have created a new genre of music called ‘Affirmation Music.’ I have always believed in the power of words and music.

The sacred power and healing effect of music and affirmations will change your life too.

You can play this record over and over to help reinforce positive messages and reprogram those negative beliefs and compulsive mind chatter we habitually replay in our heads everyday.

On another level, you can dance, or just sit back, and allow the music to affect your subconscious mind.

A mantra is a sacred word or phrase used in Hindu and Buddhist prayer or mindfulness meditation. Mantra is pure consciousness in the form of a sound. Mantras are powerful tools to help spiritualize and focus the mind.

They act to create subtle refinements in our mental and emotional bodies. Om Namah Shivaya means: I bow to Shiva.” Shiva is the supreme reality, the inner Self. It is the name given to the consciousness that dwells in us all.

Since attraction, harmony and resonance are such great factors in life, I believe that musicians hold the keys to the Universe. Musicians work with finer matter, melody and lyric. They weave fleeting, subtle pearls of truth and beauty, only heard in the moment.

This album is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and band mate, Tom Shirah. Tom was a very pure being and a long-time meditator.

I managed to get him in the studio to record his horn part on “It Comes From Me” not long before he passed. His memory lives on in this song.

My greatest thanks go to Amy, my beloved. Her divine voice rings so true in this work. Thank you for putting up with my endless detail and relentless fight to see this work come into existence.

Thanks to Chris Rosser, Carlos Fernandez, Duncan Wickel, Elsbeth Van Tongeren, Richard Shulman, Peggy Ratusz, Darin Kohler, Julia Simon, devotees of Ananda Marga Yoga Foundation, Ben Leinbach and Kit Walker’s  production skills and friendship.

If I could impart one thing, it would be to remind us of how Divine we really are. It is our responsibility to manifest this power and to realize our Divine potential. In so doing, we do the highest service for the inevitable evolution of mankind.

There is nothing but God in a sea of God. At the deepest level of Being, we are one with All That Is.

With Love and Devotion,

Ken LaDéroute
